Summit County Library Kicks off Summer Reading Program June 10th

Free, summer-long program to include reading challenges, events, and prizes for all ages

SUMMIT COUNTY— Summit County Library officials announced its free summer reading program, themed “Adventure Begins at Your Library,” will begin on Monday, June 10 with reading-related challenges and events for all ages continuing through August 10

This year’s Summer Reading program, designed to help combat the ‘summer slide’ experienced by many children, includes challenges for Pre-Kindergarten, Grades K-5, Teen Grades 6-12, and Adults. All ages can log completed books on the reading challenge software, Beanstack, to earn badges & win prizes.

For younger children, reading to a child or listening to an audiobook counts towards completion of a badge in Beanstack. Teens and adults can also write reviews or complete activities, in addition to logging their reading.

“Every year our Summer Reading program fosters Summit County’s love of reading,” said Summit County Library Director Stephanie Ralph.”

How to Participate
Registration begins on June 3 and all participants will receive a buy-one-get-one code for tickets to select Colorado Rapids games after registering. For every badge completed during Summer Reading program, participants also earn tickets for grand prize drawings on August 12.
