1. I need an Address to get a Building Permit. How do I go about getting an address assigned?

Contact the GIS department. In order to assign an address, the GIS Department will need a site plan showing access. Please see Summit County Addressing, Road Naming and Numbering Regulations.

2. How do I change the physical address of my property?

The properties physical address is assigned by the Summit County GIS department and must adhere to Addressing, Road Naming, and Numbering Regulations. If there is a discrepancy between the address listed on the "Property Information Search & Maps" and what you believe the address to be, contact the GIS department. 3. My Property Deed has a different address than the "Property Information Search & Maps" and I am trying to sell or refinance my mortgage. How do I go about getting this resolved?

Contact the GIS department. An address confirmation letter will be written by Summit County GIS department confirming a physical address for a property’s legal description.
