SUMMIT COUNTY– The Summit County Road and Bridge Department has announced the immediate closure of Dillon Dam Road due to recent rockslides that have rendered the road unsafe for public use. The closure is in effect immediately, and the road is expected to remain closed until emergency scaling crews complete their work. The road closure could remain in place until Tuesday, April 18th.

The safety of residents and visitors is of utmost importance to Summit County officials. In the meantime, motorists are advised to use Interstate 70 as an alternative route to bypass the closure. Please allow for extra travel time and exercise caution while navigating I-70 due to road damage and CDOT construction activity expected between Silverthorne and Frisco.

Summit County Road and Bridge Department will send updates via SCAlert and on social media. Travelers and residents are urged to sign up for text alerts at summitcountyco.gov/scalert

"We understand the inconvenience this closure may cause, and we are working diligently to complete the necessary repairs and reopen Dillon Dam Road as soon as possible," said Robert Jacobs, Director of the Summit County Road and Bridge Department. "We appreciate the public's patience and understanding during this time of year when rockslides are common due to warming temperatures."
