SUMMIT COUNTY – CDPHE announced today that the temporary Mako COVID-19 Testing Site located at the Breckenridge Recreation Center will close on September 7 in order to redeploy resources to another county with higher incidence rates. When Summit County added the additional testing sites with the help of CDPHE, the percent of positivity was 9.09%. It has since decreased to 7.53%.

There will still be two testing sites available to the community. One in Frisco, and one in Silverthorne:

  • The Mako Medical Community Testing Site in Frisco will remain intact and will continue to operate seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day at the Summit County Senior and Community Center, 83 Nancy's Place, Frisco. Complete the registration form for a quicker process upon arrival.
  • The Mako Medical testing site at the Silverthorne Recreation Center parking lot will continue to operate seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day.  The site is located at 448 Fourth Street, Silverthorne. Complete the registration form for a quicker process upon arrival.

“Summit County is so thankful for support from CDPHE and Mako Medical which has enabled us to increase our availability of testing to meet demand in our community throughout the peak of our cases. This has played a pivotal role in our ability to control the virus,” said Director of Summit County Public Health, Amy Wineland.

Testing is free of cost and widely available to individuals in Summit County and remains a critical tool in tracking and slowing the spread of the virus. Information on testing hours and locations is available at https://www.summitcountyco.gov/1324/Testing.
