71-year-old Summit County resident dies of respiratory failure due to COVID-19

SUMMIT COUNTY – St. Anthony Summit Medical Center and Summit County Public Health have confirmed the third death from COVID-19 of a Summit County resident.

A 71-year-old Summit County woman died Wednesday, Nov. 18, at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center, from respiratory failure due to COVID-19, with other significant conditions. The woman tested positive for COVID-19 prior to her death.

“It saddens us to lose anyone in our community to this disease, and we extend our deep condolences to her loved ones,” Summit County Public Health Director Amy Wineland said. 

With the addition of this case, Summit County now counts three deaths among people who died from COVID-19. Summit County has counted two additional deaths among people who were positive for COVID-19 and died of other causes.

Summit County will not release any further information about these deaths.

CONDADO DE SUMMIT – El Centro Médico St. Anthony del Condado de Summit y la Salud Pública del Condado de Summit han confirmado la tercera muerte por COVID-19 de un residente del Condado de Summit.

Una mujer de 71 años del condado de Summit murió el miercoles 18 de noviembre en el Centro Médico St. Anthony del Condado de Summit, por insuficiencia respiratoria debido al COVID-19, con otras afecciones importantes. La mujer dio positivo por COVID-19 antes de su muerte. 

“Nos entristece perder a alguien en nuestra comunidad por esta enfermedad, y extendemos nuestro más sentido pésame a sus seres queridos”, dijo Amy Wineland, Directora de Salud Pública del Condado de Summit.

Con la adición de este caso, el condado de Summit ahora cuenta tres muertes entre las personas que murieron por COVID-19. El Condado de Summit ha contado dos muertes adicionales entre personas que fueron positivo por COVID-19 y murieron por otras causas.

El condado de Summit no divulgará más información sobre ninguna de estas muertes y quisiera recordar a la comunidad la importancia de practicar medidas seguras de distanciamiento físico.
