[ARCHIVED] Sheriff Investigates Skier Death at Breckenridge Ski Resort

On February 7, 2020 at approximately 3:47 p.m. the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fifty-six year old male skier that was found unconscious and not breathing at the bottom of a ski trail at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

SHERIFF INVESTIGATES SKIER DEATH AT BRECKENRIDGE SKI RESORT


    SUMMIT COUNTY, CO – On February 7, 2020 at approximately 3:47 p.m. the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fifty-six year old male skier that was found unconscious and not breathing at the bottom of a ski trail at Breckenridge Ski Resort. There was no visible sign of trauma. The skier traveling on an ungroomed trail was found covered under snow in a creek bed. The victim was transported to the Breckenridge Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased. The identity of the skier is being withheld until notification of the next of kin has been made by the Summit County Coroner. The Summit County Coroner has taken over the investigation into the cause and manner of death.
