NEW FINGERPRINT SERVICES AVAILABLE

SUMMIT COUNTY, CO – On Monday, October 29, 2018, The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce new improvements to fingerprint services that are available at the Summit County Justice Center, 501 N. Park Avenue, Breckenridge, CO 80424.

The Sheriff’s Office through agreement with IDEMIA will have available ‘live scan’ fingerprinting services to the public. The new service offers a wide range of applicant options for fingerprinting. Applicants must register at the IdentoGO website in advance of an appointment and will receive information necessary to schedule an appointment.  The most significant change is unscheduled walk-in service are no longer offered.

Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons stated, “This is an exciting and welcome improvement over rolling finger-tips in black printers ink and onto a paper card for those in need of background checks. While inked print services are still available, this new technology is a faster and more accurate method. My Office staff has been receiving training to perform this work and are looking forward to providing this improved customer service to the community.”

The influence for these changes occurred when the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) announced a date when inked fingerprint cards would no longer be accepted. The State of Colorado selected IDEMIA Identity and Security USA (IdentoGO) as the preferred vendor because of the company’s experience with ‘live scan’ services at the Federal, State and Local level.
