Summit County Wins Best Employer Award

2023 Best of Summit Certificate - Community - Place to Work (More Than 20 Employees)

‘Best Places to Work’ recognition in annual poll is a first for County Government

SUMMIT COUNTY - Summit County Government has been recognized as the 2023 winner of the Summit Daily’s "Best of Summit " awards in the category of "Place to Work (More Than 20 Employees)."

"A commitment to creating an exceptional workplace is an integral part of the Board of County Commissioner’s vision,” said Dave Rossi, Interim County Manager. “Our hiring team works every day to create an environment where staff are empowered to give their best to Summit County residents, taxpayers, and guests."

Over the past year, Summit County Government focused on updating policies to support diversity, a positive workplace culture, and career development opportunities – including raising wages to address the high cost of living, creating a lifestyle benefit program, and starting new employee groups focusing on equity and recognition.

Linda Peavey, Summit County's Human Resources Director, highlighted these efforts, stating, " This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that Summit County Government is a place where every employee is valued, supported, and has the opportunity to grow in their careers. Our workforce is our most valuable asset, and we continuously strive to improve their overall work experience."
