Swan River Restoration Project - Construction Update for Week of November 7, 2016

Posted on November 9, 2016 at 2:50 PM by Jason Lederer

This week, Summit County’s design-build team of Ecological Resource Consultants/Tezak Heavy Equipment (ERC/Tezak) is completing earthwork operations on the Swan River Restoration project site. Crews are working on remaining topsoil and finish grading work before wrapping up for the winter. The ERC/Tezak team expects to be fully demobilized from the site by the end of this week, or next Monday.

Over the last few days, Summit County and Breckenridge Open Space and Trails trail crews assembled nearly a mile of buck and rail fence from timber harvested on adjacent Open Space properties. This fence is intended to help limit access to the site while vegetation is becoming established. Please respect this temporary closure while the site is in a fragile condition. A huge thank you is warranted to the trail crew members who completed an enormous amount of work in a very short period of time!

Next week, crews will be focusing on this year’s remaining landscape re-vegetation work, including fertilizer, seed, mulch, and erosion control blanket installation. Upon the completion of this work, all construction-related activities will enter into a winter shut-down period before recommencing in spring 2017.
