Due to the threat of COVID-19 spreading, Summit School
District and Summit County Public Health would like to remind everyone that all
playgrounds are closed per the amended Colorado
Public Health Order issued on April 9, 2020.
Town and other school districts throughout the
state have closed their playgrounds in response to the COVID-19 threat and the
Public Health Order. Additionally, the
Summit School District has closed all internal and external facilities to
public use until further notice.
This
includes fields that are clear of snow.
This closure is in response to concerns and observations of many persons
gathering at these facilities and social distancing measures not being followed.
The Public Health Order does allow persons to engage in
outdoor activity, such as, walking, hiking, nordic skiing, snowshoeing, biking
or running by yourself or with persons in your immediate household so long as 6
feet of separation can be achieved. Consider
wearing a face covering, especially if unable to ensure 6 feet of separation from others
such as on a bike path or trail.
