Vehicle travel through I-70 mountain corridor strongly discouraged

Posted on March 19, 2020 at 5:10 PM by Julie Sutor

Summit County is asking the traveling public to be aware that all hotels and lodging in Summit County are closed as a public health measure in the County’s proactive response to the coronavirus outbreak.

With heavy snow conditions along the I-70 mountain corridor, any stranded motorists within Summit County will not have access to lodging accommodations. Due to current social distancing orders designed to slow the spread of COVID-19, Summit County’s ability to activate an emergency shelter is severely limited. The Summit County Office of Emergency Management is requesting that individuals stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary and for out-of-county residents to avoid the I-70 mountain corridor until the storm passes.
