Message from Summit County Public Health:
Because of the power outages and very cold temperatures, heating systems in some homes and businesses may experience failure of heating systems. This could result in frozen or bursting pipes. Residents, property owners and property managers should monitor the status of their properties’ building heating systems to verify that they are working adequately.
If the heating system is not working adequately, and you are unable to restore its normal operation, you should consider letting the water drip or turning off the water supply. If your heating system is not adequately heating your home or business, contact your water provider to determine the best way to prevent frozen pipes.
