[ARCHIVED] STR Process Update: 2nd Countywide Planning Commission Public Hearing on September 17

The original item was published from September 6, 2018 12:07 PM to September 7, 2018 8:56 AM

Thank you to everyone who attended the Countywide Planning Commission public hearing on August 27 and/or submitted an online feedback form to provide input on the draft short-term vacation rental regulations for unincorporated Summit County.  We appreciate your continued involvement in this process and want you to know that the input you have provided is very valuable for County staff and decision makers’ consideration.

In response to the input received, the Planning Commission has tasked County staff with evaluating some alternative options to address key areas of community concern such as occupancy provisions, and the potential for more customized STR requirements to be applied to different areas of the County (e.g., single family residential neighborhoods vs. resort area condominiums).

The Countywide Planning Commission review of the draft STR regulations has been continued to a second public hearing, which will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 17,, 2018 at the Frisco Adventure Park Day Lodge, located at 616 Recreation Way in Frisco.  We have reserved this larger venue due to the number of public attendees at the last meeting, to provide more seating space and a better auditory system.  At the September 17 meeting, the Planning Commission will continue their review of the draft STR regulations, hear additional public testimony, and provide a recommendation to be forwarded on to the Board of County Commissioners.

The current draft of the proposed STR regulations can be found on the County website at www.summitcountyco.gov/STR
.  Please look for another blog update next week with a link to view the September 17 meeting materials online, once the materials are finalized and posted to the County website.
