How to Use the Bike Racks

Bike racks are mounted on the front of every Summit Stage bus. Each rack holds three bikes.
If the rack is empty, grasp the lever, pull up on the handle, and lower the rack.
Lift your bike into the rack, placing the wheels into the labeled slots. Use the free slot that's closest to the bus.
Grasp the support arm under the front tire.
Raise the support arm over the top of the front tire, and secure as close to the front fork of the bike as possible.

Tips and Guidelines

Please be aware of the following tips and guidelines when using the bike racks.
  • Bike racks are available on a first-come first-serve basis. During peak times, especially on weekends and holidays, it's good to have a Plan B in case racks are full.
  • Bikes are allowed in racks between sunrise and sunset. Official times for sunrise/sunset are obtained through Google search, using Frisco, CO as the location.. Bikes block bus headlights at night, so they're not allowed in racks after dark.
  • Bikes are not allowed inside buses.
  • The following types of bikes and accessories are not allowed on racks at any time: tandems, child carriers, trailers, trick bikes with pegs.
  • Detachable child seats and collapsible trailers may be brought inside buses if they can fit in the seat area with the rider (not blocking the aisle).
  • Before the bus arrives, remove any loose items that may fall off in transit, such as water bottles, pumps, locks and helmets. Be sure your bike is ready to load as the bus approaches.
  • Bikes are carried at your own risk: You are responsible for properly loading your bike; Summit Stage is not responsible for theft or damage while your bike is on the rack.
  • Bike racks are provided at stops and Transit Stations where you may lock up your bike. Summit Stage is not responsible for property stored at stops or stations.
