The Summit County Resource Allocation Park (SCRAP) is a non-hazardous waste facility located at 639 Landfill Road, two miles north of Keystone, Colorado, 0.2 miles north of U.S. Highway 6. Our landfill serves all of Summit County and the surrounding area and is the only landfill in Summit County.
SCRAP accepts electronic waste for free recycling from Summit County residents and property owners Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Proof of residency or property ownership required. This free service is made possible by the Safety First Fund, approved by voters in November 2014.
Colorado law (SB 12-133) bans landfill disposal of certain electronic wastes from all sources, including residential sources, effective July 1, 2013. SCRAP runs a collection service using a recycler with national environmental certification such as R2 or E-Steward Standards for the following types of e-waste: television sets, central processing units, computer monitors or peripherals, printers, fax machines, laptops, notebooks, ultra & net books, electronic tablets, DVD & VCR players, and video display devices with a screen greater than 4 inches measured diagonally.
