Finding Previously Recorded Documents: iCounty.org
- COUNTY STAFF ARE PROHIBITED BY LAW FROM CONDUCTING PROPERTY SEARCHES - C.R.S. 30-10-101(2.5)(c)
- 1/1/1990 forward are indexed online, beginning with reception number 381124
- 1977-1990 documents are available on iCounty.org, but only by reception number
- ALL recorded Plats are available on iCounty.org

Requests Policy: Commercial Requests from Title Companies, Lending Institutions & Law Firms
- County staff do not fulfill requests from commercial entities, with exception of a courtesy copy of a recorded Release of Deed of Trust after the Public Trustee has signed/sealed/sent it to the Clerk & Recorder
- County staff are prohibited from conducting property searches of any kind, including date downs, title searches, or assisting with compilation of legal documents, including providing blank forms for legal documents.
- Requests from commercial entities will be referred to iCounty.org, or to the public search terminals in the Clerk's Office (self-service) in Breckenridge, or to a title searcher

- Once a document is recorded, it is permanent. A corrective document with reference to the original document's reception number is required to correct a document mistakenly recorded by the submitter.
Requests Policy: Requests for a Release of Deed of Trust or Courtesy Copy of a Deed from Summit County Individual Property Owners
- Recording staff will only fulfill email document requests for non-commercial requestors for courtesy copies of their own property's deed. Staff cannot search title or certify title status of any kind (liens, mortgages, etc.). For information about title status of a property: 1) Utilize one of the available search terminals during business hours; 2) Visit iCounty.org to search back to 1990; 3) Hire a title searcher.
