Non-profits, including charitable, religious and private school organizations, may apply for exemption from property tax.
The application form, along with the state's fee of $175, is submitted to the Assessor's Office. Our office verifies location and ownership information and then forwards the application and fee to the Division of Property Taxation (Division). The Division reviews the application and informs both the property owner and the Assessor's Office of their determination. If an exemption is approved by the Division, the Assessor's Office will update the property record accordingly. Annual renewal with the Division is required.
