Housing Programs

Summit County has three programs specifically developed to provide and maintain workforce housing in Summit County.

Lease to Locals

In the Lease to Locals pilot program, the County & Town of Breckenridge have partnered to provide property managers and property owners with generous cash incentives to convert their short-term rentals into seasonal and long-term rentals, to be occupied be the local workforce.

Buy-Down Program

In the Buy-Down program the County purchases a market rate unit, deed restricts the unit to be occupied by a member of the local workforce, then resales the newly deed restricted unit at a below market sales price.

Housing Helps

In Housing Helps the County pays an owner or buyer up to 15% of the market value of the unit to place a deed restriction on their home. The restriction requires a local worker to occupy the unit and has no rent or appreciation cap.
