The Summit County Treasurer & Public Trustee office is indefinitely closed to public access in a community-wide response to COVID-19. The office is responding to voicemail, email, and online chat Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm. We have enacted our emergency preparedness plan and have begun telecommuting to ensure we are able to continue to serve the public. Thank you for your patience as we continue to meet the needs of Summit County.

NOTICE TO AN OWNER IN FORECLOSURE: If your property goes to foreclosure auction sale and is purchased for more than the total owed to the lender and to all other lien holders, please contact the Public Trustee’s office after the sale because you may have funds due to you. There is no reason to contract with a 3rd party to obtain the funds you are owed and it costs you nothing to claim your overbid funds. Call 970.453.3440, or email PublicTrustee@summitcountyco.gov
IF THE BORROWER BELIEVES THAT A LENDER OR SERVICER HAS VIOLATED THE REQUIREMENTS FOR A SINGLE POINT OF CONTACT IN SECTION 38-38-103.1 OR THE PROHIBITION ON DUAL TRACKING IN SECTION 38-38-103.2, THE BORROWER MAY FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE COLORADO ATTORNEY GENERAL, THE FEDERAL CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU (CFPB), OR BOTH. THE FILING OF A COMPLAINT WILL NOT STOP THE FORECLOSURE PROCESS.
