Flow Meters

A flow meter is a device used to measure the flow rate, or quantity of water, moving through a pipe. All well permits granted by the Division of Water Resources in the State of Colorado require the installation of a meter. If you have a meter, it is recommended to read the meter on a monthly basis and retain your records annually.

While professional installation is not required, we recommend contacting a certified well/pump installer or a plumber.

Reading and reporting your flow meter


If you are required to submit a flow meter to Summit County, you can use this form for 2022-23, or this form for 2023-24.. Please record your reading on the last day of the month, or be as consistent as possible with the day of the month for each reading. 

Return your completed form after your April meter reading to Summit County Government. You may email it to Manager.Admin@summitcountyco.gov, mail it, or deliver the form to us no later than May 15.
