Section 3809 of the Land Use & Development Code

The purpose of the Summit County Land Use & Development Code is to protect, promote and enhance public health and safety; to provide for planned and orderly development in Summit County in a manner consistent with the constitutional rights of property owners; and to balance the needs of a changing population with legitimate environmental concerns.

The Local Resident Housing Section of the Summit County Land Use & Development Code includes regulations to ensure that the following types of local resident housing is used in the manner intended by the Code.

The three categories of housing for local residents and employees:

  • Affordable Workforce Housing
  • Accessory Apartments;
  • Housing for On-Site Employees.
