SUMMIT COUNTY -  Swan Mountain Road will experience intermittent closures in the Farmer's Korner area from late May through late June, in order to accommodate the installation of pipe works for a Town of Breckenridge water utility project.

Single-lane closures will begin Tuesday, May 29, and continue periodically for several weeks. Flaggers will be present to maintain traffic flow in both directions on Swan Mountain Road. Drivers may experience delays and should plan accordingly.

A full closure of Swan Mountain Road is scheduled for Tuesday, June 12, between Sapphire Point and Farmers Korner. That section of the road will be closed to all vehicle and bicycle traffic in both directions from approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Drivers and cyclists should use alternate routes. Summit County will send community notifications in advance of the closure through the Summit County Alert system.

The Town of Breckenridge began construction of its second water treatment plant earlier this spring. When complete, it will provide quality drinking water for residents and visitors located in the Breckenridge water district. For more information on the project, visit the Town of Breckenridge website, or call 970-453-3170.

During this period of construction, Summit County will conduct improvements to the Swan Mountain Recpath along this section of Swan Mountain Road.
