SCRAP accepts electronic waste for free recycling from Summit County residents and property owners Monday - Saturday 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. Proof of residency or property ownership required. This free service is made possible by the Safety First Fund, approved by voters in November 2014.
Colorado law (SB 12-133) bans landfill disposal of certain electronic wastes from all sources, including residential sources, effective July 1, 2013. SCRAP runs a collection service using a recycler with national environmental certification such as R2 or E-Steward Standards for the following types of e-waste: television sets, central processing units, computer monitors or peripherals, printers, fax machines, laptops, notebooks, ultra & net books, electronic tablets, DVD & VCR players, and video display devices with a screen greater than 4 inches measured diagonally.
