Roadmap to Recovery

The Roadmap to Recovery identifies the steps needed to move our community through the Stabilization Phase of the COVID-19 response, which still includes social distancing measures, and then eventually the Recovery Phase, when a vaccine becomes available, and large group gatherings will once again be commonplace in Colorado.

Summit County COVID-19 Community Recovery Committee

Summit County has convened a COVID-19 Community Recovery Committee to facilitate a safe path to recovery.

Phase 1: Slow the Spread

The goal of Phase I is to save lives by:

  • Slowing the transmission by reducing the number of infections
  • Increasing testing capacity to accommodate the ability to test everyone with symptoms and their close contacts
  • Ensuring the health care system has the capacity to safely treat both COVID-19 patients and others requiring care.

Phase 2: Stabilization

The goal of Phase II is to:

  • Lift strict physical distancing measures in a concerted and careful fashion
  • Allow the vast majority of businesses and schools to open
  • Continue to control transmission so we do not revert back to Phase I.

Phase 3: Recovery

Criteria for transition to Phase III:

  • Development of a vaccine
    • Tested for safety and efficacy
    • FDA emergency use authorization
  • Other therapeutic options for prevention or treatment that have a measurable impact on disease activity and can help rescue very sick patients.
